Promoting a new China policy that invests in America

Date: April 30, 2021

The Economic Policy Institute is pleased to host Senator Bob Casey for an event promoting new approaches with China on national security, rebalancing trade, rebuilding manufacturing, and supporting workers both domestically and abroad.

Senator Casey will discuss the United States’ competitive relationship with China and the need for our nation to rise to this unique challenge. In doing so, he will call for a policy framework that supports competition, holds the Chinese government accountable for practices that harm workers and U.S. firms, and will call for investments in America’s communities and children. He will also outline the stakes for the future of the global economic system.

The remarks will be followed by a panel discussion featuring EPI President Thea Lee, EPI Senior Economist Robert Scott, and New America’s Director of New Models of Policy Change Heather Hurlburt.
