Sen. Elizabeth Warren and progressive leaders join EPI to unveil the Women’s Economic Agenda: Ambitious policy agenda sets sights beyond the gender wage gap

Date: November 18, 2015

On Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. Eastern, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) will join the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) and the AFL-CIO’s Liz Shuler and other leaders to release EPI’s ambitious Women’s Economic Agenda.

Millions of women have joined the workforce over the last decades and made gains in educational attainment exceeding that of men, yet they are still paid less than men. To close the gender wage gap, we need policies that will lift wages for all workers—because the forces that have kept women’s pay from growing over the last dozen years are the same forces that have suppressed wages for male workers.  The 12-point Women’s Economic Agenda will give low- and moderate-wage workers more economic leverage and will change the rules so that a growing economy benefits hardworking Americans.
