Daniel Schneider

Professor of Public Policy and Sociology

Daniel Schneider is professor of public policy and professor of sociology at Harvard University. Schneider received his Ph.D. from Princeton University in sociology and social policy in 2012 and then completed a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Policy Research at the University of California, Berkeley. He was assistant professor of sociology at Berkeley from 2012 to 2020. His research focuses on family demography, inequality, and precarious employment. Schneider is currently co-director of the Shift Project.
